First Ever Respray

Ok so basically i first started to gain an interest in spray painting when i used to work for a taxi company. Next door to the offices was a workshop where a good mate of mine had a little motorcycle repair shop, mostly consisting of harley davidsons and choppers. I tried to gain an interest in the mechanical side of things, but found my skills lay elsewhere, and that was actually spray painting the motorcycle tanks. I did these when i was about 16, and dont get me wrong, i rubbed these down and repainted them over and over! All by hand, until I got to this standard. From the rubbing down, applying filler, primering, basecoating, top coating, flattening down and laqcuering i made nearly every mistake possible but in return those mistakes turned into knowledge for when i did it again and again, each time progressing a little further.

Eventually I reached the stage as you can see above. The black and yellow tank was the first one I ever painted. Then i found a smaller monkey bike tank that was in terrible condition and again with my experiences from the last paint job, i did it a lot more quickly and efficiently!

Bearing in mind these were all done with rattle cans and a hair-dryer in the summer. At the minute however i have 2 BSA bantam tanks that are currently in the stages of being primered and fillered, I will keep posting updates on them as i am determined to paint them to a high standard! As i recently discovered a BSA bantam D7 Tank can sell up to £100 as they are quite rare.

But like i said, if you have any questions or queries or any pictures you would like for me to display plase get in touch :)

cheers
